Frenchie, the new local bar on Ponsonby is French

La Cantine du Torchon changed name for Frenchie  – Bar a Vin

Claude and Alex changed the direction of their restaurant with the arrival of the talented new chef de cuisine, Vadim. The large selection of crepes and galettes has been reduced to leave room to traditional French specialities and a range of more than 50 French wines.

After Bouchon, Pastis and Torchon, Frenchie is the latest of Alex Roux, this time more focus on wine and bar for the pleasure of numerous francophiles or wine connoisseurs living or working on Ponsonby and Three Lamps.

Frenchie is a convivial French bistro ideal for business meetings, after work drinks, dates or a quick trip to Paris. Meet your friends around a glass of Beaujolais, Bordeaux or kronenbour beer and enjoy our bar food selection, les amuse bouche.

Frenchie I also a romantic place for dinner al fresco with its outdoor tables or your Christmas function up to 25 persons in our upstairs dining room.

Live music is alwasy there with Tracey Collins and her piano accordion every Thursday from 7.00pm and Club Manouche, masters of Gypsy Jazz on Friday at 7.00pm.
